So I just looked up stats on the Flyers defense. Here is the roster. Those above the line are injured. Also recall that yesterday, Markov was serving a 1-game suspension for 3rd man into a fight vs. Ottawa. They had Kapanen filling in the 6th defensive slot.
So think about this. They only had 2 experienced defensemen (Slaney is really an AHL defenseman who has been called up a bit through the years) vs. the Caps, and still held them to 2 goals.
Markov is back, and Ragnarsson is a possibility tomorrow night (3/9/04) vs. the Devils
