Interesting graph of 2004 presidential election

I'm not very political, except to the extent that I complain about politicians. But this graph is pretty interesting. It shows a point for each state, and graphs the percent vote D or R vs. the percentage of people in that state with a college education. It's not a very good correlation, but there is a trend.

The webpage of Prof. Steven Ruggles at the University of Minnesota has that and more under a link at the bottom that says 2004 Election Graphs. Also there is a current graph of President Bush's approval rating averaged from several polls. It's updated through Nov 15 of this year, but doesn't include the recent bump in the polls.

Just one question: can you see a trend here?
