Is Philadelphia cursed? (Updated)

The 2005 Eagles, now yesterday's news, lost their top 3 players to injury (McNabb-sports hernia, Westbrook-foot, Owens-brain). Now the Flyers are suffering a similar fate. But this time, it's not just the team's top 3 players, but by some statistics, the league's top 3 that are injured. That and a few more injuries to boot.

There are the good players who are out:
Keith Primeau, team leader and captian, is out indefinitely with a concussion. Starting goalie Robert Esche is day-to-day with a slight tear of the abductor tendon. Former captain and solid defenseman Eric Desjardins dislocated his right shoulder.

Then there are the NHL stats leaders:
One-time plus-minus leader Joni Pitkanen has a torn abdominal muscle. Recent NHL assists leader Peter Forsberg is almost back from a groin strain. Now Simon Gagne, who leads the NHL with 23 goals, is now out at least two weeks with a groin tear.

What did we do to earn this?

Update - 4:21pm: Forsberg came back today and scored a goal and an assist as the Flyers beat the Minnesota Wild 3-2. I'd still like to see the other 5 guys I mentioned return to action.

Am I the only person who still cringes when, during a discussion about hockey stats, "Minnesota" is not followed by "North Stars"? And it's been how many years?
