Why American's Don't Save Enough

I was looking over our finances for the month and was reminded of something I find funny. Each month, we earn interest on our savings account, while we also receive a bribe for using a certain credit card. Each month, the bribe is more than our interest. Basically, what the business world is telling me is that we earn more by spending than by saving. I guess they like the part where they get to keep money we spend while we hopefully get back money we save.
