Well, the LHC has been turned on and it hasn't destroyed the world. Hooray for science! All of the doubters who thought we'd be dead by now can go pound sand.

P.P.S. I'm still not sure why some people responded to the danger by sending death threats. Assuming their fears were true, they were giving the scientists a choice between death and death.
